The development of the American market began in 1984, with the construction of the site at Macon, Georgia. Today not much is left of the first production lines because, thanks to the constant growth, the original plants have been renovated or replaced by lines with higher production capacity, to satisfy growing demand.

Lines for producing fiber used as raw material for nonwovens have also been installed at Macon. The latest modern plant for producing staple nonwovens was started up in 2007.
